The Deadly Dozen are an amateur theatre company based in East Yorkshire who bring the intrigue and excitement of the murder mystery to local communities. Our performances lend themselves well to fund raising events or just as entertainment.
Recent venues have included: Village Halls; Sports Centres; private houses and even private gardens.
The Deadly Dozen is made up of very experienced and talented actors working as a close-knit team. We write plots to suit individual bookings and locations as well as performing commercial scripts.

An Evening with the Deadly Dozen
The Deadly Dozen Team can help you with advice on how to organize your event.
As we don’t use a stage, or curtains, or special lighting, we have few restrictions in terms of venue. This method also enables us to get to know our audiences right from the beginning of the evening.
Most often at our performances, seating is arranged in cafe style and our actors move amongst the audience, revealing information about themselves and their roles. Catering choices, local publicity, poster and ticket design and print and ticket sales are for the organizer to arrange.
We can advise on advertising and other promotional material and we will provide logos and artwork. As the play progresses, the audience are invited to find the identity of the murderer and we will award prizes at the end of the performance. All tables will be equipped with programmes, pens and note – taking sheets to help the audience solve the mystery.
The Deadly Dozen have a library of Murder Mystery plays, all with tantalizing plots. Some of these are seasonal – i.e. Christmas or Guy Fawkes night. Others are traditional period costume dramas or are set in a variety of modern – day situations. All of our plays are unique, fresh and captivating will challenge your audience’s power of reasoning keeping them guessing to the last minute.
